12 teachers quit job to contest local polls in Khotang

KHOTANG, April 26: Teachers affiliated with different political parties have started tendering their resignations in a bid to open legal way for contesting the local polls slated for May 14.

BAGLUNG, April 25: Major political parties are having hard time to select their candidates from the pool of the aspirant candidates for the upcoming local elections. The aspirant candidates are lobbying within their party’s rank and files to clinch the party’s ticket. On the other hand, however, small political parties are struggling to find influential candidates to represent them in the elections.

KATHMANDU, April 25: In a bid to accommodate parties under the Federal Alliance in the upcoming local elections, the Election Commission (EC) has revised its scheduled programs for the first phase of the elections and unveiled new programs for the second phase scheduled for June 14.

KATHMANDU, April 24: The Election Commission (EC) on Sunday said that the polls can be conducted in two phases only if the recently printed ballot papers, voter rolls and voter ID cards are to be used for the second phase elections as well. The election body is for conducting the local elections in two phases without affecting the existing technical and managerial arrangements.
