Former mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, PL Singh, passed away this morning at his residence. Singh’s body was kept at Chaksibari, where leaders, dignitaries, and the public gathered to pay their last respects.

The Udhauli festival was also observed with fanfare in Kathmandu. On Sunday, young Kirati men and women adorned their traditional dresses and engaged in the Sakewa Sili dance in Gokarneswar, Kathmandu.

The Newar community gathered at Basantapur, Kathmandu, on Sunday, to celebrate Yomari Punhi, a traditional festival marking the harvest season, alongside National Jyapu Day, honoring Newari cultural heritage.  

The five-day Bhaktapur Festival, organized by the Bhaktapur Municipality, kicked off on Friday with the goal of attracting both domestic and international tourists. The festival will continue until December 17, offering a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Bhaktapur.

Voting is being held simultaneously to elect new district, provincial and central working committees of the FNJ.

The march began at Sundhara, where participants, including local residents, environmentalists, and cultural preservation advocates, gathered with banners and placards reading slogans including ‘Save Kamal Pokhari’ and ‘Demolish Chhaya Center’. 

The King began his day with a visit to the iconic Swoyambhunath Stupa, where he immersed himself in the serene ambiance of one of Kathmandu's most sacred sites.

The march began at Shanti Batika and made its way toward Bhrikutimandap, drawing enthusiastic participation from individuals advocating inclusivity and empowerment.
