Companies participating in the passport printing tender process have questioned controversial provisions set by the Department of Passports (DoP), accusing it of limiting competition, undermining fairness, and awarding additional payments to the same company during variation.

The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation has initiated the necessary process to nationalize 164 ropanis and 13 annas of land in the Shera Durbar area in Nuwakot.

The police have prepared an investigation report recommending legal action against 44 individuals involved in the misappropriation of funds from Swarnalaxmi Savings and Credit Cooperative. As per the report, police sought  Rs 1.19 billion in fines from defendants.

The Nuwakot Land Revenue Office has filed a petition to bring 164 ropanis of land, out of the 184 ropanis associated with the Shera Durbar, under government ownership, claiming that political influence was being used to seize the land.

Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak said that  regardless of the involvement of the leaders of any political party in the matter, they should be investigated and the legal process should be initiated.

It has been revealed that 184 ropanis of land belonging to Shera Durbar in Bidur, Nuwakot, was transferred to Bikesh Shrestha, who worked in the personal secretariat of the then prime minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center).

It is seen that 460,410 shares were bought and sold for Rs 466,410,000. Similarly, 45,000 shares of Dhrub Lal Shrestha, a resident of Bidur Municipality-4, Nuwakot, were bought and sold for Rs 45,000,000.

The ordinance also mentions returning the money of cooperative victims and recovering the money from those who cheated the cooperative.
