Youth injured in landmine blast dies (Updated)

TULSIPUR, Dang, June 15: A youth, who was critically injured in a landmine blast at Arjun Khola-based army base camp in Deukhuri of Dang at around 8:30 a.m. on Monday, has died.



Disctrict Police Office Dang said the injured, 17-year-old Gopal BK of Bardiya, was treated at primary health center in Lamahi and died while being taken to Rapti Sub-regional Hospital for further treatment. BK´s body has been kept in the hospital after postmortem and his kin in Bardiya have been informed of his death, it is reported.



The landmine went off when BK entered the prohibited army area. BK has sustained serious injuries on his hands and legs. He entered into the army area when his bus heading to Mahendranagar from Kathmandu was parked at Arjun Khola due to a highway closure called by community forest users of Dang.
