Write about epidemic not about me: Dr KC to journalists

JAJARKOT, April 21: Senior professor at the Institute of Medicine (IoM) Dr Govinda KC on Tuesday requested the journalists to support him in controlling season flu epidemic in Jajarkot district. A group of journalists had reached to Dr KC who is in Jajarkot to cover the news on his works. "Please write how to control this epidemic rather than writing about me," the doctor said.

When asked why he was in Jajarkot despite his poor conditions, Dr KC said it was the right time to visit Jajarkot. "The people have been suffering by the epidemic, I cannot stay in Kathmandu in such condition," the orthopedic surgeon said.

Dr KC who reached Jajarkot via bus is now at Khalanga with medicines. "I have brought some medicine with me. I will ask for more if required," he said.

He also said that he will be requesting his colleagues to join as per necessity.

"I am planning to travel all villages as far as possible. But I will stay in the district headquarters for a while if the epidemic is controlled," he added.

Dr KC left for Jajarkot on Monday despite the requests from his colleagues to shun the visit due to his poor health condition. He has not recuperated well after a 13-day fast-unto-death protest at IoM, Maharajgunj putting forth different demands, colleagues said.
