The victim, who died on the spot, has been identified as Nama Kumari Pokharel, 62, of Okharkot VDC, according to District Police Office (DPO) of Pyuthan. The woman's body was torn asunder by the blast that took place in her kitchen garden.
“The victim after lunch was heading for the kitchen garden to collect fodder for cattle at around 2 pm. Soon after she reached her kitchen garden, the bomb went off,” said Himal Pokhrel, a local.
A team of security persons led by Chief District Officer (CDO) Ram Bahadur Kurumwang had reached the incident site immediately.

The team that inspected the site assumed the explosive to be a socket bomb. “However, we're still investigating the incident,” said Kurumwang. The deceased's body was sent to the District Hospital, Bijuwar for post mortem.
Meanwhile, the victim's relatives, including locals suspected that someone might have planted the bomb there.
