Bhairahawa defeated Region-6 Baitadi by 44 runs in the inaugural match played at the TU International Ground, Kirtipur, while Birgunj defeated Region-1 Biratnagar by 3 wickets at the Institute of Engineering (IOE) Ground, Pulchowk.
Bhairahawa elected to bat first and put up a total of 128 runs losing all wickets in 33.3 overs in the 40-over match. Kasam Thapa (24) and Prakash KC (22) were top scorers for Bhairahawa. Sameer Nagarkoti took three wickets for Baitadi.
In reply, Baitadi were all out for 84 in 31.1 overs. Tapendra Saud scored 37 runs for Baitadi. Likewise, Yuddha Bikram Chand scored 10 runs. However, no other batman could reach a double figure score. Man of the match Devendra Somare took three wickets for Bhairahawa.
At the IOE Ground, Biratngar who elected to bat first put up 60 runs on the board losing all wickets in 19.1 overs. Six batsmen were out for duck. Shailendra Ram (28) and Bhawendra Magar (not out 10) were the only batsmen who reached double figure scores. Avinash Karna took three Biratnagar wickets.
In reply, Birgunj met the target in the 25th over losing seven wickets. Man of the match Avinash (12) and Madhav Subedi (not out 13) contributed most runs in Birgunj´s victory.
