Who are you?
This is how I’d like to begin. Amidst political profligacy and rift, the nation has become a ruin. With dogmatic doctrine and blame-game, the denizens are left with shadowed assurance. You are liable to answer me (and all of us). Do I expect a better leader among any of your candidates? No, not really. [break]
Election again! I’m already counting another seven-eight wasted years that our country has to hold on to. The only change that I expect is that those goons, who have been a national threat today, will become national heroes tomorrow.
And why shouldn’t I be this hopeless? After all, the good ones are sidelined, the bad ones are welcomed and the worst are praised everywhere. Furthermore, the state of education is pathetic, economy is slashed, and criminal activities continue to make headlines. Similarly, corruption is escalating, development initiative is almost zero and tourism is more or less destroyed.
And then as if all this wasn’t enough, they talk about ‘dividing’ the country into various states! Prithvi Narayan Shah, despite growing up in a remote existence, felt the necessity of a larger community and fortified us into a single nation. Why should we split into petty states again? Are we moving ahead or going further back?
All of us have many questions and you are accountable to answer us honestly. To say, “I’m a leader” and mislead innocent public by making false promises is easy. But to prove that you actually are a leader, is intricate.
