The government-owned water supply corporation in Bharatpur has not been able to provide water through the over 2000 taps in the municipal area.
The disruption, according to a corporation staff, has been caused after one of the pumps went out of order. The local residents have accused the corporation staff of apathy and dilly-dallying over repairing the pump.
However, an accountant at the corporation, Kailash Dahal, said they were trying to bring the pump back to operation as soon as possible.
