KATHMANDU, Aug 5: National Vigilance Center (NVC) said it has initiated investigation into the transfer of funds to be frozen at the end of the fiscal year into the non-freezing accounts.

The NVC took this action based on the information that various District Development Committees, municipalities and Village Development Committees have transferred the amounts to the accounts which are not to be frozen. [break]

Referring to the district-based Office of Fund and Account Controller, the center made it public that the Kathmandu metropolis, Madhyapur Thimi municipality, Gorkha, Ilam and Triyuga municipalities and District Development Committees of Bhaktapur, Rupandehi and Udayapur districts have transferred the amount to be frozen into the non-freezing accounts.

The center has issued directives to the concerned body stating that the act of transferring amount from the account to be frozen to non-freezing one against the legal provision and written order of Ministry of Local Development will contribute to corruption.
