KATHMANDU, Dec 7: The Quixote´s Cove, Jhamsikhel, came alive Monday as three poets from America --  Matt Mason, Karen Finneyfrock and Danny Solis -- performed for an event entitled ´Word Warriors: Spinning at the Wordmill´.[break]

The poets, who will be the mentors to the 87 participants who filed in a submission and got selected at the upcoming event ´The Poetry Slam, Voice Your Words´, gave a preview of the program.

“Slam poetry is nothing difficult, it´s only poetry with a bit of dance,” said Mason, encouraging the audience to participate in the event. Karen on the other hand found the audience quieter in comparison to those in America and asked them to scream “voicing out their feelings.”

The event being organized in association with the American Embassy has the three slam poets invited to Nepal to train the participants. The organizers are also traveling to Biratnagar with the event.

The next event of the series -- ´Word Warriors: No Word Left Unturned´ - will be held on Wednesday at Gurukul, Old Baneshwor.
