At a programme organized by Press Chautari Sunday, Minister Pokharel said the Nepali Congress (NC)´s candidate for the Prime Ministerial post Ram Chandra Poudel should withdraw his candidature before going for majority process.[break]
Discussion could be held among the political parties regarding the majority system, he said, adding that the UML-led government resigned to give outlet to the national problems for peace and constitution.
Minister Pokharel also claimed that the new constitution can be promulgated on time by concluding the peace process on the basis of consensus among the parties.
Minister Pokharel, who is also the Secretary of the CPN-UML, informed that party Chairperson Jhalanath Khanal will be the candidate for the prime minister as per the latest decision of the party.
Maoist combatants who do not go for integration will be rehabilitated as per the Comprehensive Peace Accord, he added, reiterating commitment that the government is responsible for the execution of both the works.
The Maoist-led government will not be possible till the peace process brought to the logical end, he further clarified, adding that it will be difficult to have collaboration with the Unified CPN (Maoist).
