DANG, Jan 4: The CPN-UML launched a campaign to expose Maoist excesses and violence, from Khalanga of Salyan, on Monday. The UML campaign comes after four UML cadres were injured when Maoists attacked them in Khalanga on December 8.

Maoist cadres had tried to obstruct the program in Khalanga by blocking the roads with tree trunks. Large number of security personnel were mobilized during the program.

Addressing the gathering, UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal accused the Maoists of standing against consensus. Khanal said the Maoists attacks on UML cadres were the result of the Maoist fears from the popular mass base of the UML. The program was also attended by senior UML leaders including KP Oli and Ishwar Pokharel.
