“The main objective of the task force is to resolve the differences seen among the parties within UDMF,” he said.
Sonar said that the task force will also formulate terms of reference and code of conduct and policies for UDMF.
The task force has been formed as the UDMF member parties are in dispute over whether to support the Nepali Congress or UCPN (Maoist) for forming a new government. The UDMF has so far maintained neutral stance during the parliamentary votes for prime minister.
TMDP demands group entry of Madhesis in army
TMDP has on Saturday has decided to ask the government to ensure group entry of Madhesis under the newly-announced vacancies in Nepal Army (NA)
NA has recently announced vacancies for over 3,400 army personnel after Supreme Court said the issue of recruitment in the army does not fall under its jurisdiction.
According to Sonar, the meeting also asked the government to provide relief to the farmers hit hard by drought in various Tarai districts. A large number of farmers have not been able to plant crops this year due to prolonged drought.
The meeting also discussed disciplinary action against TMDP lawmaker Ram Kumar Sharma, who defected to the UCPN (Maoist). No decision was taken on the issue, said Sonar.
Sharma will lose his Constituent Assembly (CA) membership if TMDP takes disciplinary action against him.
