KATHMANDU, April 3: Host Nepal is playing Afghanistan in its maiden ACC T20 Cup final at TU cricket ground, Kirtipur, on Wednesday.
Today’s final against holder Afghanistan is Nepal’s third straight final in major tournaments after it won the ICC World Cricket League Division 4 in Malaysia in September 2012 and shared the ACC Trophy Elite title with the host UAE in October. [break]
The match will begin at 1:15 pm local time at TU cricket ground. Nepal defeated the UAE by six wickets while Afghanistan sidelined Hong Kong by seven wickets in the semifinals on Tuesday.
UAE wins third place
Meanwhile, the UAE has defeated Hong Kong by 32 runs to win the third place play-off at Pulchowk Engineering Cricket Ground.
Sent in to bat first, the UAE scored 166/7 in 20 overs. Number eight Amjad Javed hit 51, while middle order batsman S Patil made handy 43. In reply, Hong Kong only managed 134 for the loss of eight wickets.
For Hong Kong W Barkat made 41. UAE bowler E Silva snared three wickets to secure a comfortable victory for his team.
