Two killed in train accident

JANAKPUR, June 7: Two passengers died while six others were injured when a train heading to Janakpur from Jayanagar collided with a tipper (Na 3 Kha 8642) at Deuri Prabaha Station on Monday.



Budan Mandal, 45, of Deuri-8 and Shyam Kumar Mandal, 22, were killed in the 10 a.m. accident. The injured are being treated in Janakpur Zonal Hospital.



The accident occurred when the tipper tried to overtake an approaching train, eyewitness Laxman Ram said.



Local youths held tipper driver Jit Bahadur Magar of Bardibas-4 who was absconding after the accident and handed him over to the police.
