The bus with registration number plate Na 2 Kha 5591 was heading for Kathmandu from Dang.
The deceased is 78-year-old Jaggu Prasad Chaudhari of Saudiyar VDC, Dang.
Those injured are Deepak Sunar of Kathmandu, and Sarad KC, Thakur Giri and Jag Bahadur Rokaya of Dang. They are in critical condition, police said. Twelve others injured in the accident are undergoing treatment at Lumbini Zonal Hospital, Butwal.
Meanwhile, a woman died after she was hit by a motorcycle in Mahottari district.
The deceased is 40-year-old Panmaya Ramtel, a resident of Gauridanda VDC-2, the District Police Office, Mahottari, said. Ramtel died on the spot after a motorcycle knocked her down on the Sindhuli-Bardibas road.
The motorcyclists fled after the accident. Police is searching for the culprits.
