Kathmandu, May 4: The National Seismological Centre has recorded a magnitude 4.2 earthquake having epicenter in Sindhupalchowk district early this morning.

The quake was recorded at 4:59am, said Chief of the Centre, Lok Bijay Adhikari, adding that a total of 134 aftershocks of over four Richter scale were felt after the April 25 earthquake of 7.8 magnitude.

He, however, said the aftershocks were occurring with widening gap and with lesser magnitude. The quake less than six in Richter scale would not be that destructive. Chief Adhikari added that aftershocks may last for months, it was not good to worry much. RSS
