Almost 40 percent tourists are foreigners here, and some even offered alms after receiving the tika, said the entrepreneurs.

The tourists also celebrated by worshipping in various shrines along with Nepali youths since the day of Ghatasthapana, said entrepreneur Rammani Khanal.

They like local culture and tradition, and enjoy especially the Tharu culture.

A Durga Bhawani (goddess) temple has been established at Sauraha for the entertainment of the tourists, and worship was offered, said Chairman of the Regional Hotel Association Sauraha, Shankar Saiju.

The tourists also played the Nepali swings including the ‘rote ping’, said locals.
