According to UP Lamichhane, spokesperson for Nepal Students Union affiliated to the Nepali Congress, they postponed Thursday’s banda as the day clashes with the Mother’s Day.[break]
Student unions affiliated to NC, CPN-UML, CPN-Maoist and others have been protesting the government move to appoint controversial former chief secretary Lok Man Singh Karki as the chief of Commission for the investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).
According to him, banda will be enforced some other day. He, however, informed that they will continue their other protest programs.
