The tournament is being organized to raise funds for the treatment of ex-national volleyball player Dinesh Baniya, who is in critical condition after both of his kidneys failed and need transplant.
A draw for the tournament was made public on Tuesday. Nepal Police Club will take on Nepal Army on Friday and the winner of each day (Thursday and Friday) will vie for the title on Saturday.
The organizer, Nepal National and International Players Association (NNIPA), and co-organizer, Nepal Sports Journalist Forum, informed that all preparations for the tournament were complete.
On the occasion, skippers of all the teams claimed they would lift the trophy. NNIPA General Secretary Deepak Shrestha informed that about Rs 300,000 has been collected so far from different sources for Baniya´s treatment.
The ordinary entrance fee is Rs 200 and Rs 100 and seasonal fee is Rs 500.
