Three held with pistols

KATHMANDU, Sept 12: Three persons were arrested in the capital on Sunday for allegedly possessing pistols and ammunition.



Tufan Singh, 40, Saijad Ali, 29, and Binod Singh, 28, all from Bardiya district, were arrested from Kalanki while they were allegedly trying to sell two pistols. [break]



According to Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD), the alleged are members of a racket involved in importing illegal weapons from India.



Businessmen join forces to fight donation



TULSIPUR, Sept 12
: Tulsipur-based businessmen have decided to protest against underground outfits that have been forcing them to cough up hefty donations.



The businessmen took such a decision on Sunday at a meeting organized by Tulsipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI).



Chairman of TCCI Dipendra Kumar Khatri said they have been issued threats for refusing to pay donations.



Khatri warned that businessmen will be left with no alternative but to quit their undertakings if they are not ensured security.



District Police Office Chief Thakur Prasad Gyawali appealed to businessmen to co-operate and provide information about such threats.
