Three die in tractor accident

CHARIKOT, Oct 28: Three persons died and five others were injured when a tractor hit a wall on the side of the Singati-Lama Bagar road at Sano Kaseri of Laduk-9 after brake failure on Thursday.

Wangdi Sherpa, 45, of Lama Bagar-7, Chhatra Bahadur Tamang, also 45, of Laduk-8 and Angdol Lama, 23, of Bulung-1, died when the tractor (Ba 1 Tha 1109) carrying goods to Jamune from the northern market of Laduk in Dolakha district met with the accident in the afternoon.[break]

Tamang is the owner of the ill-fated tractor whose driver is absconding. Three of the injured are in critical condition and have been brought to the district headquarters Charikot for treatment, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dhiraj Pratap Singh. The other two are being treated at local medical centers in Singati.

Eyewitness Subba Shrestha of Singati said the trolley got detached from the tractor, that was carrying eight men apart from the goods, after it hit the wall and crushed the passengers.
