KATHMANDU, Nov 9: Lakhey Restro and Bar on Durbar Marg will bounce to the music of the acclaimed band, The Shadows, on Wednesday at 7 pm.

Back in the capital after a long tour across Nepal, the band decided they wanted a more subtle scenario for their concert. [break]

Excited at their very first gig inside a restaurant, they plan to go all original, playing songs from their previously released albums, such as “Suna Hamro Awaaz” and “Hidne Manchhe Ladchha” along with four other unreleased songs from their third album, which is due for release next month.

“Our trip has affected us a lot. We’ve seen different kinds of crowds and have been subject to different kinds of requests,” says Swapnil Sharma, lead vocalist for The Shadows.

“We see ourselves as a social band, we write about the country and its people. And this trip has inspired some more songs into us,” he adds.

Swapnil also tells us how The Shadows have always made music for themselves. “As musicians, we want to be able to stand by our music, not just make commercial music to sell albums,” he says.

They, however, place a very high importance on their fans and always try to live up to their views of the band.

The group also went on an Australian tour in September, bringing with them international experience.

The Shadows promises a lot to our Neplai music fans. With hits like Hidne Manchhe Ladchha and “Prakriti” that held top positions on the Nepali music charts and a third album that seems just as promising, the forthcoming concert seems to be a must-go for all Nepali music fans.

The Chitwan-based Rock quintet has the diverse lineup of Swapnil Sharma as lead vocalist, Prashant VK on rhythm guitar, Prakash Rasaily playing lead guitar, Amit Pradhan on bass, and Bikash Manandhar on drums.
