Swine flu suspected in Ramechhap

RAMECHHAP, Sept 4: Patients complaining of fever, cold and chest pain have increased significantly in Ramechhap over the past week. Officials suspect that the cases might be the symptoms of Swine flu.



The blood samples of some of the patients have been sent to Kathmandu for lab test, according to District Public Health Officer Prakash Shah.

"Though some patients returned home after treatment, many others are down with high fever," Shah added.


Around a dozen patients with the symptoms of flu are visiting hospitals on a daily basis in the district. The number of patients with typhoid and jaundice have also gone up in the district in the last few weeks, officials said.
