The irate students vandalized the office´s windows, chairs and tables and set the office on fire, demanding correction of the marks they received in B Ed second year´s optional English paper.
All 42 students failed in the practical exam of Alt Material Practice because of examiner Sheshmani Subedi´s faulty marking, according to the students. Subedi had marked the answer sheets by assuming the full marks and pass marks of the paper as 20 and 8, whereas the actual full marks and pass marks of the paper are 50 and 20, respectively.
Regional Examination Controller Kaman Singh Bohara said they can do nothing about it as only the TU´s examination board can correct the marks.
Examiner Subedi, meanwhile, admitted his mistake and requested the OCE not to ruin the students´ future.
Free Students´ Union President Surya Rokaya said they would be forced to take any kind of step if the students were made victims of the examiner´s mistake. The students´ agitation was led by FSU, ANNFSU, ANNISU-R and NSU.
OCE fails to publish detailed SEE results
