´Next edition of Info-Tech will be more digital´
Kishor Panth is the first Vice-President of Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) - organizer of six-day long CAN Info-Tech 2012. Panth shares his experiences in organizing the event with Republica.

How do you evaluate the response so far at Info-Tech?
Visitors´ feedbacks are yet to come but we are encouraged with the crowd. Looking at the trade volume, we assume that exhibitors are also happy. In terms of number of visitors, around 100,000 visitors came on Saturday. Till now, the number of visitors has crossed 190,000.
How is this edition of Info-Tech different from the previous ones?
Like always, one product received maximum response. Last year, it was the notebook while this year the main attraction is tablet PC. Internet packages are also selling well. We have been introducing new technology every year. This year, we introduced bar code for tickets and VIP tags. Digital information display is the other new attraction.
Despite efforts from organizers, it seems managing the crowd is still a challenge. Would you like to comment on this?
Crowd management has always been a challenge. We have increased the space, splitting food stalls from other stalls. Limited space is our challenge. Visitors have also been cooperative and we request them to listen to volunteers´ instructions and help us in making the event more organized.
Do you have any plans for next edition of the event?
We are focusing on making the event more digital, cutting down on the use of paper. More focus will be on branding and technology will be used wherever possible. We are working to introduce Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags to ease trading and we will incorporate the new innovations of ICT sector.
