The deceased has been identified as Abraham Subedi, 11, son of Shumsher Subedi. He was 2nd grader at the local Jalapa Higher Secondary School. Abraham died on the spot when he unknowingly touched a pole that had power leaked into it from the power cables above, according to the District Police Office, Sindhupalchowk.

Locals blamed that the incident took place due to negligence of the Nepal Electricity Authority, as it turned deaf ears to repeated complaints about power leakage in the pole.

It may be noted that four people had lost their lives and many injured at Baramchi VDC after a passenger bus happened to touch a live power cable along the road section in the fatal incident that took place a year ago. RSS
