Puran Rai has been selected in men´s 52 kg category after the qualifying match conducted at the Dasharath Stadium covered hall. Dinesh Shrestha in 60 kg, Ratna Tamang in 75 kg and Deepak Maharjan in 81 kg have been selected under the men´s section. [break]
In women´s category, Sanju Lama secured first position in 51 kg category and Anuradha Lama in 60 kg to qualify for the Asiad. Maya Chaudhary (51 kg) and Deepa Chhetri (60 kg) are the reserve players.
Moktan, Shahi in final
KATHMANDU, July 30: Brahmanda Singh Moktan and Gaurav Shahi on Friday advanced into the final of U-14 boys´ singles of the Second Kesa Group Junior Tennis Initiative Open Tennis Tournament at Satdobato tennis court. Moktan registered a straight 6-3, 6-3 win over Prakash Sharma and Shahi beat Avishek Bastola 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.
In U-12 boys´ singles, Ashok Kunwar and Ajay Gauchan made it through to the final. Kunwar beat Bipin Thapa 9-5 and Gauchan saw off Pranav Kayastha 9-6.
In U-12 girls´ singles, Anny Mathema outclassed Mayanka Rana 9-1 and Bijisa Joshi edged Janvi Nahata 9-4. In U-10 girls´ singles, U-12 finalist Mathema set up a title clash with Mayanka Rana who had lost to her in U-12. Likewise, Utshavi Joshi and Kethlina Mathema secured final berths winning respective matches.
In boys´ category, Rejan Lama and Jeevan Gharti Magar advanced into final.
