Manju expressed happiness and appreciation for the new initiative taken by the bank. “The bank provided me a job at a time when it was getting difficult to make a living as a player,” she said adding, “It is the responsibility of the state to look after the welfare of players but it has this matter.”
Ramesh Karmacharya, the bank´s founder and president, said that it was their social responsibility to encourage players. He also said that the bank will allow Manju to participate in games and to continue her studies and support her.
Manju, who hails from Khairitole, Machhapuchchre-1 of Kaski district, has gotten the post of a public relations officer. She recently completed her higher secondary education from Gyanu Baba Higher Secondary School in Pokhara.
Manju was voted the most popular player of 2009.
Players get track suits
KATHMANDU, Jan 25: Pentagon International College on Monday handed over track suits to the volleyball squad of the 11th South Asian Games (SAG) to begin in Dhaka from Friday.

Executive director of the college SP Singh and National Sports Council Vice-president Pitambar Timilsina handed over the track suits to the 12 players and two coaches of the squad.
The distribution of track suits became possible because of a special effort of former national volleyball player and administrative director of the college Jeetendra Bahadur Chand.
