Bijay Shrestha and Kshitiz Khadka scored one each in the 25th and 26th minute respectively. Likewise, MMC beat Armed Police Force (APF) 4-1. Tej Lama, Kiran Gahatraj and Sanjay lama scored one each in the first half and got an own goal in the second half. Kumar Gurung scored the consolation for APF.
Army, AVM into final
KATHMANDU: The hosts Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya (Army School) and AVM entered into the final of the Fourth Chief of the Army Staff Running Cricket Tournament on Friday winning their respective semifinal matches at the Army School grounds, Bhaktapur. In the first match, Army School defeated Princeton by three wickets. Winning the toss, Princeton accumulated 97/9 in the allotted 20 overs. Ashis Jha topscored with 17 runs for the Princeton while Gunjan Yadav adjudged the-man-of-the-match picked three wickets for Army School.
Following the run chase, Army School scored 100 runs in 19.1 over losing seven wickets. Sujan Basnet smashed 23 runs for the winning side while Ritesh Basnet scored 12 runs. In another match, AVM registered a comprehensive 64-run victory over Rajan Memorial School. Bishwajeet Shah topscored with 44 runs for AVM remaining unbeaten as they scored 127/4 in limited over match. Dibesh Luitel (22) and Ayush Lal Shrestha (20) contributed for the winning side. In their run chase Rajan Memorial were bowled out for 62 runs in 15.2 over. Utsav Koirala and Abin Shakya claimed three wickets each for the winning side. Koirala was declared the man-of-the-match.
The final will be played on Sunday.
Machhindra beat HSC
KATHMANDU: Machhindra Club defeated Himalayan Sherpa Club (HSC) 3-0 in the Nepal Bank Junior U-14 Football Tournament on Friday. Arpan Rai scored a first-half goal for Machhindra and Keshab Kumar added a brace in the second half to seal the win. In another match, Bijay Shrestha and Kshitiz Khadka were on target as Bansbari Club saw off Friends Club 2-0. Likewise, Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club (MMC) hammered Armed Police Force (APF) Club 4-1. Tej Lama, Kiran Gahatraj and Sanjay Moktan each scored for MMC while Kumar Gurung of APF scored an own goal. Gurung also grabbed a consolation goal for APF.
