Special Games in mid-July

KATHMANDU, July 8: The National Sports Council (NSC) is all set to organize the 20th School-level National Special Sports Meet in Kathmandu on July 15 and 16. The tournament will feature only athletics for differently-abled players.



Altogether 282 players from different districts and Kathmandu valley will vie for 45 gold medals, according to Min Kumar Sharma, a member of the tournament organizing committee.

Players from Nepal Blind Welfare Organization, Nepal Disabled Association and players with hearing impairment will only be allowed to take part in the event.


The winners, runners-up and third place finishers in each category will be awarded with Rs 1,500, Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 respectively with medals and certificates. The budget of the tournament is Rs 1.5 million.
