Eli Rai, 7, died while being taken to hospital at 10 a.m. Saturday after a snake bit her on Friday night. Her family members were taking her to Jhapa after seeing a snake in her room.
Meanwhile, a fish trader found a newborn girl child near the taxi stand in the district headquarters at 6 a.m. Saturday, police said.
According to police, Bijay Karki of Ilam Municipality-6 adopted the child after police failed to trace the mother of the newborn.
