Six held with arms

NEPALGUNJ, July 29: Police arrested six persons on money extortion charges in Nepalgunj on Wednesday. Police also seized a pistol and a locally-made gun from them.



According to Banke police, the arrested are associated with Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha-Jwala Singh (JTMM-J) and they were arrested from different places in Nepalgunj. Police had intensified the investigation and search for them after finding a pamphlet of JTMM with Munna Shesh of Mohammadpur-7 during a security check on Tuesday.



Police Inspector Deepak Basnet said they arrested Nanku Ali Behana, Santosh Vaishya, Prem Chaudhary, Nijamuddin Sai and Nadir Sai of Khaskarkando on the basis of information provided by Munna. Santosh Vaishya denied extorting money or having links with JTMM.



Among the arrested, Nanku has already served five years in jail on charges of theft and robbery while Chaudhary was jailed for three years on murder charge.
