Royal Nepal Golf Club pro Shrestha carded one-under 71 at the par-72 Gokarna Golf Club on Thursday for a total score of 15-under 273. Army Club pro Sanjay Lama remained 12 strokes behind Shrestha in the second position. [break]
With the trophy, Shrestha claimed his 23rd career title. Lama played the round of three-over 75 for a total score of three-under 285. Shrestha received Rs 95,000 while Lama got Rs 60,000.
Shrestha, who was eight-stroke ahead of Lama after the third round, played two-over 38 on the front nine that included birdies on the third and ninth holes against a double bogey on the fourth and a bogey on the sixth. On the back nine, he carded birdies on the 11th, 12th and 13th and 18th holes and suffered a bogey on the 14th hole. Lama took the turn at one-over 37 and played two-over 38 on the back nine.
RNGC pro Ramesh Adhikari, who played 71, came third at one-unde 287. He received Rs 44,000.
In Amateur section, No 1 player Dinesh Prajapati won the title with the total score of 10-over 298. Prajapati played five-over 77 on the final day. Tirtha Poudel came second with the score of 303 while Tanka Bahadur Karki (307) finished third.
