One of the factory workers said that the conflict started after the management decided to cut the regular package, including Dashain bonus, from Rs 8, 000 to Rs 6,000.
Administrative officer of the industry, Surya Tripathi said that they were not in a condition to provide bonus on the basis of the salary of Rs 8, 000 that the government fixed as a minimum salary for laborers few months back.
“Workers didn´t agree when we told them that they will get the bonus on the bases of new salary increment and old rate of salary which was below 6, 200,” he said.
According to him, if they provide them total amount of bonus on the new rate of salary, the company will have to face a loss of hundred of thousands of rupees.
The management has urged the workers to return to work as the close down of the factory in the wake of festive season it is a huge loss for both the sides.
