Seven VDC offices set ablaze

DHANGADHI, April 26: An unidentified group on Saturday night set ablaze seven Village Development Committee (VDC) offices in Kailali district. According to Assistant Police Inspector Tul Bahadur Bista at Kailali District Police Office, the VDC offices put on fire include Joshipur, Thapapur, Dudhdhara, Ram Shikharjhala, Sadepani, Baliya and Bhajani VDC. The group of around 40 persons put the VDC offices on fire between 11 pm to 3 am. The fire has left the VDC offices partially damaged. Furniture and documents of the offices were damaged in the incident. It is suspected that the agitating Tharuhat activists might have set the offices on fire.
