Those injured are police inspector Prem Khadka, constable Kalyan Singh Kunwar, students Pukar Shahi, Ganga Bhattarai, Sadhana Karki, Rekha Rokaya and Indra Kunwar.

They were angered by the Maoists’ blackening of face of a school principal on Monday.

The students have closed the East-West Highway and Lamki market since Monday

Maoist cadres had smeared soot on the face of Purna Bahadur Baduwal, principal of Janasewa Secondary School after a dispute over teachers’ appointment.

The principal alleged that he was assaulted on Dhakal’s order. A complaint has been filed at the Area Police Office, Tikapur demanding arrest of 27 Maoists including Dhakal for the attack.
