
In other matches of the men´s singles category, Lok Bahadur Gurung defeated Bikash Thapa (6-3, 6-1), Raju Shrestha thrashed Samak Udas (6-1, 6-1) and Amul Regmi beat Yam Gurung (6-3, 6-2).
Likewise, in the veterans´ singles over 35 category, Kiran Bista defeated Naresh Subedi (7-6, 6-4) and Mahesh Shrestha beat Madhav Thapa (7-6, 7-4). In other matches of the same category, Raju Rai thrashed Achyut Basnet (6-1, 6-2), while Nirajan Shrestha defeated Rajan Shrestha (6-0, 6-0). Gaurishankar Shrestha and Dipesh Tuladhar advanced into the next round as their opponents gave a walk-over.

Altogether 189 players are participating in the championship that will conclude on November 20. The Championship includes eight events -- men´s singles, men´s doubles, women´s singles, veterans´ singles (above 35), veterans´ singles (above 45), veterans´ singles (above 55), veterans´ singles (above 65) and veterans´ doubles. The winners of the men´s and women´s singles titles will receive 40,000 each, while the runners-up will receive 20,000. Likewise, the winners and runners-up of the men´s doubles will receive 30,000 and 15,000 respectively.
