Saudi bus accident: Three Nepalis killed, one injured

KATHMANDU, Feb 2: Authorities have confirmed that three Nepalis were among the 15 people who died in a road accident in Saudi Arabia last Monday.

A van carrying workers collided with a trailer in the southern port city of Jizan, killing 15 people, including three Nepalis. The Consulate General of Nepal in Jeddah identified the deceased as Krishna Khatri from Palpa, Rupak Karki from Udayapur, and Man Bahadur Rana from Kapilvastu.

Doctors are treating Suk Bahadur Limbu from Ilam at a local hospital for serious injuries. The accident claimed the highest number of Indian nationals, with nine losing their lives.

Three Ghanaian workers also died in the crash. In addition to Limbu, doctors are treating 11 other injured workers, with some in critical condition.
