'Run for employment'

KATHMANDU, Aug 10: About 400 youths participated in the ‘Run for Employment’ rally organized by the Association of Youth Organizations Nepal (AYON) and Employment Fund on Saturday. The event was organized in order to mark the International Youth Day (IYD) which is being celebrated worldwide on Monday, August 12.



“An average of 1600 Nepali youths are leaving the country in search of jobs abroad every day, and keeping in mind the theme of this year’s IYD – ‘Youth Migration: Moving Development Forward’ – we organized this rally in order to encourage the youths to not just seek jobs, but also become job creators,” explained Jayaram Nepali, Secretary of AYON. The rally that started from the International Convention Center gate, New Baneshwar, concluded at Tribhuvan International Airport gate, Sinamangal. Dr Sushil Koirala, the initiator of the Rose Movement, also distributed roses as a symbol of peace, harmony, goodwill and friendship to the participants of the rally.
