LAMJUNG : CPN-Maoist Secretary Netra Bikram Chand has stressed the need for resolving the contentious issues before the fresh Constituent Assembly (CA) elections scheduled for November 19.

Addressing a function at Besisahar, Lamjung on Saturday, Chand said, “There is no point in holding the polls if it does not resolve the political crisis.” He said maintaining election is not the only alternative for resolving the political dispute.[break]

“If there is consensus between the political parties, constitution can be drafted through other means,” said Chand. He also claimed that holding the fresh CA election would be futile as they have not yet concluded the disputed issues.
