The relay sit-in was jointly organized by Former Parliamentarians’ Club, Association of District Development Committees of Nepal (ADDCN), National Association of Village Development Committees of Nepal (NAVIN) and Municipality Association of Nepal (MUAN). [break]
It was organized to create pressure on political parties representing the CA, CA and the Nepal government to deliver peace and democratic constitution, immediately hold the interim elections for local bodies and make constitutional guarantee of local governments.
Various figures including Omkar Prasad Shrestha, Bir Bahadur Singh, Bramha Narayan Chaudhary, Krishna Prasad Jaisi, Madhav Poudel, Basu Basnet and representatives of local bodies’ organizations are present in the sit-in today.
The sit-in will last on August 31, the deadline of the second time extended tenure of the CA, informed Publicity Sub-committee member Jaishi.
