Regmi briefs Prez on flood relief, poll work

KATHMANDU: Chairman of Interim Election Council Khil Raj Regmi has briefed President Dr Ram Baran Yadav about the relief and rehabilitation measures adopted by the government for recent flood victims in farwestern Nepal. [break]



During a meeting with President Yadav Thursday evening, Chairman Regmi also briefed the head of the state about the support the government had received from various quarters for the flood-hit people. According to a press statement issued by his press coordinator Rajendra Prasad Pandey, Regmi also briefed him about the preparations made by the government to hold free and fair polls by ensuring maximum participation of people. President Yadav expressed satisfaction over the works done by the government on providing relief to the flood-hit population and preparations to hold the poll on November 19.
