BEIJING, Aug 12: A rare and horrifying two-headed cobra was discovered by a Chinese farmer in Yulin, in the country’s Guangxi region.

Snake farmer Huang Pan was filtering through empty snake shells when he came across the discovery around two weeks ago, the Mirror reported.

Mr Pan said that both heads move independently but the serpent had not drank or eaten anything since it had been born.

The farmer was concerned the snake wouldn’t survive and it is now in the care of the city zoo.

“The snake has been alive for 10 days now and has been with us for two, during which time it has already changed its skin once,” zookeeper Li Keqi said in a statement.

“But despite the snake’s stable condition now, there is no way of telling whether it will be able to live on, as it still does not eat or drink water.”
