A local, Ramesh Mishra, said the home of Bhairav Bahadur Thapa suddenly caught fire due to electric short circuit. It took almost one hour for the locals to put out the fire.
A fire engine from Bhaktapur was pressed into service, but it reached there after the blaze was doused.
