KATHMANDU, May 29: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), the fifth-largest force in the House of Representatives, along with other pro-monarchy groups, has announced that their protest will continue on Friday.
Claiming that the first day of their protest on Thursday was peaceful, the groups said the movement has just begun and will persist until the reinstatement of monarchy. Participating leaders urged supporters to join Friday’s demonstrations, declaring their commitment to continue the agitation.
Kamal Thapa, a leader of RPP-Nepal, called on people to gather from the same locations as Thursday and march toward Maitighar and Bijuli Bazaar by 1pm.
RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden described Thursday’s protest as just a "trailer," promising to keep up the pressure until the system is changed.
Meanwhile, protestors reportedly handed over three individuals to the police, accusing them of attempting to infiltrate the movement.
