Present coalition need-based: Minister

KATHMANDU, June 23: Minister for Information and Communications Shankar Pokharel has said collaboration with Unified CPN (Maoist) can resume immediately once the Maoists realize that the present government was formed as per the need of the time.



He urged the Maoists to see the present coalition as a natural alliance formed after dissolution of the erstwhile government and not see the 22-party coalition as a grouping against them.



Pokharel said the government wants to revive the peace process and the comprehensive peace agreement; and to reactivate the special committee for the integration of Maoist combatants.
