KATHMANDU, Aug 31: The committee formed by groups concerned about Upper Tamakoshi Hydroelectric Project met with Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal on Monday and sought governmental action to push for the construction of the main civil works of the 309 MW project by the end of the year.

The prime minister assured the group that the government will accord "high priority" to the project and help toward "successful completion" of the project, the committee members said. The extended capacity of the project is 456 MW and it is set to be completed by 2013-14.
