KATHMANDU, March 31: "What we need in the world is more love and humility," said Uddhab Raj Pandey, whose book 'Peace and Humanism' was released on Thursday.
The book was launched by Nagarik Editor Guna Raj Luitel and former chief secretary Leela Mani Poudyal at Hotel Mandap, Kathmandu on Thursday. The book highlights simple acts of compassion to inspire others to do the same. The book is a practical guide to help people practice humanism in everyday situations.

At a time when the world is mired in wars and suffering, the book talks about the works of ordinary people that have inspired generations of people to look to good angels of the society for inspiration.
Author Pandey hopes to inspire conversations around humanism in order to make this world a more peaceful place.
Speaking at the program, Republica Editor Subhash Ghimire said the very essence of humanism is integral to Nepali culture and that it should be discussed as well as practiced through small acts of kindness in our everyday life.
